What is the best piece of advice you’ve gotten at work?
Relationships build careers. Get out and meet people and try to give back.
What inspired you to pursue this field of work?
What attracted me to interior design is that it blends creativity with purpose. I love the idea that a well-designed space can completely change someone's experience, whether they're working, dining, relaxing, or gathering with others. Being able to create spaces that are both functional and inspiring is what makes the work so rewarding to me.
What is your favorite part of your commute to work?
The 12 minute walk is pretty great! The hustle and energy of people moving through the loop gets me excited and motivated for the day ahead.
What do you consider a “must see” landmark in Chicago?
Everyone needs to do an Architecture Boat Tour and see the Chicago skyline from the Lake!
What gets your creativity flowing?
My creativity usually starts with curiosity. Learning how a space will be used, who it's for, and what experience we're trying to create gets ideas flowing. I enjoy exploring materials, visiting new places, observing how people interact with environments, and looking at projects from different perspectives. The more I understand the story and purpose behind a space, the more creative ideas begin to take shape.
How do you relieve stress after a long day?
Taking my dog on a long walk or Happy Hour with friends.
What is your standard office lunch?
Sweetgreens
